A Washington Post review of more than 100¬†PowerPoint presentations¬†that were initially posted to a public website before being removed suggests that Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. has a larger role in the surveillance of the Chinese public than it has previously said. In the presentations, Huawei said its technology can help identify people by voice, monitor people of political interest and help retailers use facial recognition technology to track shoppers’ habits, although a company spokesperson denied the existence of the projects mentioned.
